We first met at a Perahera night in Kandy — she was watching the Kandyan dancers, I was watching her. There was something timeless about that moment, as if it had been written long before we arrived. We spent the rest of that evening walking along the Kandy Lake, talking as though we had always known each other. Three years later, here we are.
